Wintegra’s Newest Family Member, the WinPath3-SuperLite is Sampling
The low cost WinPath3-SuperLite shipping to first customers leverages installed base of software
Austin, TX, March 21, 2010. Broadening their processor portfolio, Wintegra announced today the newest member of their third generation processor family is sampling worldwide to alpha customers. WinPath3-SuperLite (WP3-SL), a software compatible subset of the high-performance WinPath3 introduced in 2009, leverages a large installed base of factory and field tested carrier-grade software. The WP3-SL with Wintegra's software is aggressively priced to provide a superior solution for cost-sensitive systems. (For information on the WinPath3 see: WP3 Press Release).
With the addition of the WP3-SL, Wintegra has the widest price-performance range of software compatible processors in the access infrastructure marketplace. WinPath3 family of devices range in performance from 1Gbps to 10Gbps, all sharing the same advanced architecture supporting a wide variety of applications. For additional details on the WinPath3-SuperLite see: WinPath3-SL Press Release.
"Wintegra has nicely rounded out our processor portfolio and application range with these new devices at the request of both existing and new customers", said Robert O'Dell, Founder and EVP of Marketing and Sales at Wintegra. "The WP3-SL is a great companion to our new WinPath3 family to address high volume, cost sensitive applications like microwave backhaul, low-end wired backhaul, wireless aggregation line cards, enterprise femto and pico base stations, enterprise IADs, and VDSL and PON pizza box designs. Versions of WP3-SL support high volume deployments at sub-$25 pricing."
WinPath3-SuperLite devices are optimized for power and board space. With a modest 27x27 package size and integrated SGMII interfaces, customers can easily fit their entire designs into compact form factors such as AMC cards. WinPath3-SuperLite devices are an optimal choice for low power designs, consuming significantly less power than a comparable WinPath3 for the same configuration.
Wintegra is also supplying its customers with a complete development system and a ready-to-go development environment. The WinPath3-SuperLite Development System (WDS3-SL) has 6 integrated GbE ports and multiple expansion modules that allow customers the freedom to configure it to their specific needs. With the WDS3-SL, Customers can start developing their solutions from as early as possible and achieve the best time-to-market possible. The WDS3-SL is provided with a Linux development environment with VxWorks support scheduled for mid Q2.
WinPath3-SuperLite devices and development systems are now sampling with production expected in Q3'10. WinPath3-SuperLite devices are available in a range of footprint compatible configurations, varying in performance and features.
